Put Waste In The Right Place

What is waste management?....... In simplest terms, waste management is the collection, transportation, and disposal of garbage and other waste products. The most significant type of waste that ends up in landfills is food. Aside from economic losses, food waste is also a producer of greenhouse gases. Plastic is the second most common sort of garbage discovered in landfills. Plastic trash is a major contributor to climate change and a serious threat to pollution, biodiversity, and human health. While some types of plastic waste, such as single-use plastic bags and straws, cannot be recycled, the majority of what we throw away may be recycled or reused.   As sensible dwellers of the Earth, we are responsible for managing our waste sustainably and protecting the environment. We can do this by following the 3 Rs of waste management. REDUCE = Reducing your waste means that there would be less waste to manage. However, reducing waste is easier said than done. Dad's Day

Father’s Day celebrates and honors the men who have embraced the essential role of fatherhood. On this day, we also thank fathers and father figures (uncles, grandfathers) for the sacrifices they make, for embracing the responsibility of nurturing and raising children, and for devotion to their family.  A father is someone everyday who has a day full of profound reflection and that is with regard to his children and family. He is the most important member of the family whose love for his children is just like oxygen for the survival of the lives. There’s nothing that big that he could not do for his family and there’s no such sacrifice that he will not do. Every little thing he does makes him great!! He has that unfathomable energy and the unconditional love in his heart that compels every child to keep following him in the hope of learning a new thing every time. The patience and perseverance he has to make everything possible in his children’s life is quite a thing th...

HERO WAYS, ZERO WASTE

As students and stewards of creation, we must take care of our environment and keep it clean and orderly. One environmental issue that we are currently facing and should solve is the destruction of our ecosystems. These ecosystems not only help balance the equilibrium of life between nature and humans, but it also provides us, humans, all the necessities that we need and wants., in other words, we depend our lives on the environment. So, if we let our actions destroy these ecosystems that are beneficial to us, then we are all affected negatively, these include the biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) organisms. These effects include but not limited to destruction of biodiversity, and natural resources will decrease. One solution that we can do for us to solve this issue and save mother earth, is ecosystem restoration. Ecosystem restoration means assisting in the recovery of ecosystems that have been degraded or destroyed, as well as conserving the ecosystems that are stil...

APPRECIATING THE SACRIFICES OF OUR NATIONAL HEROES

For over 300 years, the Philippines was a Spanish colony, and is named after King Philip II of Spain. In 1521, Ferdinand Magellan landed on the Philippines islands and claimed it for Spain. Magellan wanted all the local chiefs to submit to the Spanish rule but one of them named Lapu Lapu refused. An attempt was made by Magellan to crush Lapu Lapu, but he failed and was killed. Independence of the Philippines was a mighty feat. On independence day, the sacrifices of the national heroes are remembered, the country’s sovereignty is appreciated, instilling nationalism in the citizens, as well as celebrating the culture and tradition of its people. Parades are held nationwide, with participation from the government, and the citizens. As it is a national holiday, businesses, offices, and schools are closed, and families spend the day in parks, and doing other celebratory activities. Filipino communities abroad also celebrate with programs, and annual parades. As the military parade portion c...

SHE LIBERATED ME TO LIFE.........

Being a mother entails both the joy of watching your child grow into a dignified adult and a great deal of responsibility and commitment. Being a mother is not an easy task; in fact, it is a serious matter because it drains all of your energy and completely changes you, physically, emotionally, and even mentally, because you are all responsible for how your child will grow and learn in the future, along with the father. Mothers are typically in charge of instilling morals and proper behavior in their children. Mothers play a significant role in shaping a child's mentality, values, and principles because they are the ones who nurse and care for their children, resulting in them being taught based on their attributes and characteristics. Mothers' efforts for their children and how they care for them should be recognized because they sacrificed their own time, interests, and even their own lives to become a good mother and role model to their own children. Even becoming a mo...

VIVA VIGAN!! VIVA BINATBATAN FESTIVAL!!

Viva Vigan’s week-long festivities have both religious and secular importance. It starts on the 1st of May, when the whole country celebrates Labor Day and Vigan remembers its own Isabelo de los Reyes, who founded the country’s first federation of labor. The catholic faithful also remembers on this day St. Joseph, patron saint of workers. The first-day commemoration is followed by the Binatbatan Festival celebrations, which includes a street dancing competition. Binatbatan dancing is connected to Vigan’s abel Iloco craft. The dance depicts how cotton pods are beaten with bamboo sticks to release the cotton fluff called batbat from its seed. This festival was started in 2002 to showcase this traditional weaving craft that is said to predate the arrival of the Spaniards. On the 3rd of May, the Feast of Apo Sto. Cristo Milagroso is observed with a mass at the Simbaan a Basiit. This is a most significant religious celebration in Vigan due to the many instances that the city was said to be ...
