Lenten Season

Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday and finishes at sundown on Holy Thursday, is a 40-day period of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It's a time of preparation for Easter, when we celebrate the Lord's Resurrection. We pray to the Lord by reading Sacred Scripture, serve by giving alms, and cultivate self-control by fasting during Lent. During Lent, we are called not only to refrain from indulgences, but also to a deep interior conversion of heart as we attempt to more truly follow Christ's wishes. We remember the waters of baptism, where we were baptized into Christ's death, death to sin and evil, and new life in Christ.

Many people are familiar with the tradition of not eating meat on Fridays during Lent, but we are also encouraged to exhibit self-control and fast in various ways during the season. In this reflection, consider the purpose and roots of the Lenten fasting tradition. Furthermore, almsgiving is one method to share God's gifts not only through monetary distribution, but also through the sharing of our time and abilities.

It's crucial to keep in mind that doing these things will never earn or merit Jesus' sacrifice or a relationship with God. People will never be good enough for a flawless God because they are flawed. Only Jesus has the ability to save us from our own sins. On Good Friday, Jesus gave His life to suffer the punishment for all of our sins and to forgive us. On Easter Sunday, Christ was raised from the dead to give us the opportunity to establish an eternal connection with God.

To stop the virus from spreading, almost all countries had to shut down their economies, and the Philippines is one of those countries that has taken severe steps by implementing Enhanced Community Quarantine last March 15, 2020. The quarantine helped to contain the virus’s spread, and the Philippines appear to be on its way to flattening the curve. Despite having one of the world’s longest and strictest lockdowns, the Philippines has the second- highest number of COVID-19 infections in Southeast- Asia. The social and economic life of the people are still being impacted by movement limitations imposed in various sections of the country. However, depending on our ...

Who I am

In this world, many people surround us. Despite the fact that we all appear to be alike, we are all unique in our own ways. Every person on this earth has a unique quality that are shared with others. Getting to know others allows you to expand your horizon, generate new ideas, and spread them. I’m currently studying in ISNHS I choose to study there because it gives quality education, enhance abilities and develop new skills and talents. I am a person who makes mistake, laughs, cries, hurt, smiles, and loves. I am who I am through my joys, sorrows, heartbreaks, happiness and loses. Each step in my life and each moment that goes by make me up as an individual person. My life is full of both good and painful memories. My attitude in my family is not like my attitude in my friends, if I am with my family sometimes I’m behave and I don’t talk too much, and if I am with my friends I’m very talkative. Some of our neighbors think that I ignore them every time they talk to me because I j...
